Lava Falls is where the Gang are trying to get to in the film. It is where the Momma Dinos raise their babies, and therefore where Momma Dino will take the Baby Dinos and Sid.

When Sid first arrives, Rudy chases him, and cracks the ground. Sid's piece then floats towards the fall, and then, just as he goes over, is saved by Buck, Crash, Eddie and Roger. Just before, Buck, Crash and Eddie escape the pursuing Pterosaurs by flying them into the Falls.
